It is a payback time for Elder Gabson Olumoko over his numerous services to his community, Ekinrin Adde as the Executive of Ekinrin Adde Community Development Association (EACDA) has found him worthy to be honored with a Distinguished Community Service Award on the eve of Ekinrin Adde Day.
Elder Gabson Olumoko who has been announced as one of the recipients of the most distinguished awards, will be awarded on the 24th of June 2022, at the EACDA Awards Night. He has done the community proud in the areas of rendering selfless services to Ekinrin-Adde and in recognition of those numerous achievements as an illustrious son of the soil, he has earned this great honour.
Elder Gabson O. Olumoko was born into the family of Chief Jacob Oniayegbami Olumoko of Igaga clan of Ekinrin-Adde.
He started his Primary Education at Ekinrin-Adde Baptist Primary School between 1953 to 1959.
He worked briefly as a Clerk in the Ministry of Agriculture before proceeding to Clerical Training School Oturkpo, Benue State between 1963 to 1964.
He returned to the Ministry before proceeding to Kaduna Polytechnic between 1975 to 1976 where he obtained Executive Grade Certificate and was promoted to Executive Officer.
He was then posted to the Governor’s Office in Ilorin Kwara State. He worked briefly as Protocol Officer between 1976 to early 1980 before he was posted to Kwara state Liaison Office Lagos as Liaison Officer between 1980-1983.
He went to Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin between 1982 to 1983 where he obtained a Diploma in Public Accounting and Auditing.
He served the EACDA as the Assistant General Secretary between 1982 to 1983 and became the National General Secretary for 3 terms between 1984 to 1990.
In recognition of his outstanding and patriotic services, he was given an award by EACDA on 19th June 2010.
He was a two-term Chairman, Nigerian Civil Service Union Kwara State Council between 1987-1991. Also the Chairman Nigerian Labour Congress Kwara State Council between 1989-1991.
Elder Gabson Olumoko was the Vice President Snr. Staff Association Kogi State Council 1992-1993 and also the State Auditor, Nigerian Union of Pensioners 2007-2011.
He retired from Kogi State civil service in 1993 as Chief Executive Officer. He is currently the Chairman Ekinrin-Adde Community Development Association, Lokoja branch.
He is married with children.
