As the November 11 Governorship election in Kogi State draws nearer, the winning chances of the Action Alliance candidate, Otunba Olayinka Braimoh, are definitely getting clearer by the day.
This is because of the gale of his candidacy’s endorsements and massive defections to his Action Alliance party within the last one month.
The latest of these took place on Tuesday in Lokoja when the Kogi State Archbishops, Bishops, and Clergy Men Forum endorsed his candidacy and promised to give him full support towards winning the election.
The group was led by their Chairman, Archbishop (Dr) Daniel Idachaba, JP.
In a statement released by the Chairman, he said, “Your Excellency, it may interest you to know that the Kogi State Archbishops, Bishops, And Clergy Men Forum was founded in the year 2000 to foster the much needed love and unity among gospel Ministries in Kogi State. Membership cuts across the three senatorial districts of the State. Most of us are founders of churches who have great influence on our congregations to do the right thing and the right thing is to encourage our followers to vote massively for your Excellency in the next Gubernatorial Election in Kogi State
“Your Excellency, the vehicle that brought us here today is not the vehicle of sycophancy but a vehicle of a sense of purpose. We are to endorse you as the sole candidate and to support your election as the next Governor of Kogi State.
Braimoh was later presented with a Certificate of Credence and a medal. The Archbishop, while presenting these, stated, “We are also here to present our certificate of credence to you because you are the only candidate who knows how to fix Kogi State, you are the one who knows how to resuscitate Kogi State to function properly”.
“We are proud of your understanding and knowledge on how to fix Kogi State without using monthly federal allocation, which is not even enough,” concluded the clergyman
A group prayer was thereafter organized to support Braimoh on his political journey.
Braimoh, on his part, thanked the clergymen and reassured them of his commitment to ending poverty in the state.
He said, “I thank you immensely for this endorsement and unflinching support. This has again strengthened, emboldened, and assured me of our victory come November 11. As men of God, let’s keep on praying because power belongs to Him. In the same vein, we must also ensure that our own human responsibilities of voting and protecting our votes are put in place. This is the only way our efforts can dovetail to success story.”
