2023 Kabba/Bunu Constituency: Kogi Women Group Endorses Hon. Towonifinni for State Assembly

The representatives of the Okun Daughters Forum (ODF) worldwide on Wednesday declared their support for the candidature of its Pioneer National President, Hon. Towonifinni Mosiko to contest as member representing Kabba-Bunu Constituency in Kogi State House of Assembly.

The Forum is a formidable women group that cut across the Okun speaking LGs, including Oworo in Kogi West Senatorial District, with notable women of substance as members, both home and in the Diaspora.

Speaking during a visit to the Aspirant, who is contesting under the platform of the All Progressives Congress APC, the Initiator of the Forum, Dr (Mrs) Yeye Aremo Seyi-Ayodele appreciated the magnanimity Gov. Yahaya Bello, the Executive Governor of Kogi State for giving women the opportunity to serve under his administration, in various capacities.

She used the medium to plead for more opportunities, especially for the coming 2023 general elections, for more women inclusion.

Ayodele, who is the Director of ICT Kogi State Polytechnic, said in strong terms that their visit was to drum support for the House of Assembly ambition of their pioneer National President, Hon. Towonifinni Mosiko, whom they believe in her leadership capacity, to be a voice for the women of Kabba /Bunu, Okun land and Kogi State at large.

Also speaking, the two Matrons of the Forum, Mrs Olufunke Kanjuni and Chief Modupe Toyin Olaitan – a retired broadcaster and CEO Rehoboth Children Home Lokoja, testified to the good qualities of Hon. Towonifinni and their strong support for her, as she goes through the electioneering period.

They expressed confidence in her and also encouraged her to keep her head so high, even as she competes amongst the men folks. They prayed for her success at the polls and assured her that the women are strongly behind her.

Responding, Hon. Towonifinni Mosiko who was overwhelmed by the support of the group, thanked them for their prayers and support, reassuring of her commitment to sustaining the vision and mission of Okun Daughters Forum.

Towonifinni in her words, “Even though I seem to be the youngest in the Forum but you all reposed confidence in me to lead this noble Forum of virtuous and pragmatic women who have created a niche for themselves in their various careers, I am always grateful for this privilege and I promise to keep making you all proud with the help of God.”

Also present at the event were other notable women representatives from Kabba /Bunu, Ijumu, Yagba West, Yagba East, Mopa-Amuro, and Oworo.

Hon. Towonifinni Mosiko is the Kabba /Bunu Legislative Council Leader and the only female aspirant for member representing Kabba/Bunu.
