Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike on Wednesday visited Kogi State Delegates of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to declare his aspiration to contest for the 2023 Presidential Election.
Gov. Wike said Nigeria needs a fearless and courageous Leader that has the capacity to tackle the nation’s challenges as soon as possible.
He noted that the country has never been divided as it is being experienced now, saying the time has come for Nigerians to look beyond zoning and focus on ability to provide quality leadership.
According to him, resources needed for the development of Nigeria has been given by God, saying the country also needs a Leader that will take responsibility over happenings in the nation.
The Governor, who enjoined Nigerians to give power in the next general elections to those who have energy and ready to serve, emphasized the need for respect for the Rule of law.
The Presidential Hopeful told the delegates that he will continue to remain in the PDP even if he fails to clinch the ticket of the Party, noting that PDP has added value to his life.
In a remark, Kogi State former Governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris commended Gov. Wike for his support to the growth of the party in the State and Nigeria in general.
Chairman of PDP in the State, Sam Uhotu stated that the large turn out of delegates and supporters that recieved the Presidential Aspirant is an indication that of the love and support of Kogi people to his aspiration.
