KOSCEPA: Omofaiye Hit the Ground Running With Partnership with KGIRS

The Director General of the Kogi State Commodity Exchange, Export Promotion, and Market Development Agency (KOSCEPA), Hon. Victor Adewale Omofaiye has hit the ground running in the actualisation of the vision of the Agency with a familiarization visit to the Kogi State Internal Revenue Service (KGIRS).

 

Discussions during the visit focused on the vast potential of the state in revenue generation through the utilization of its abundant agricultural and mineral resources.

Key commodities highlighted include rice, cassava, and cashew, palm tree plantation, which are widely cultivated across the state. The conversation also delved into the state’s untapped mineral resources such as coal, gold, and limestone, emphasizing their importance in boosting the state’s economic outlook.

 

Hon. Omofaiye stressed the need for collaboration between KOSCEPA and KGIRS to improve Kogi State’s internally generated revenue (IGR).

He noted that such a partnership would not only strengthen the state’s economy but also ensure sustainable development by creating more opportunities for the people of Kogi State.

 

He highlighted the agency’s plans to create a seamless synergy between commodity production and revenue collection frameworks to optimize resource management.

 

In his remarks, the Chairman of KGIRS, Alhaji Salisu Sule Enehe, commended the efforts of KOSCEPA since its establishment.

 

He lauded the proactive approach of Hon. Omofaiye in engaging stakeholders and promoting revenue-generating initiatives.

 

The Chairman acknowledged the strategic importance of leveraging agriculture and mineral resources to enhance revenue collection.

 

Alhaji Enehe assured the Director General of KGIRS’s full cooperation and support in achieving their shared goals. He emphasized that such partnerships would contribute significantly to the economic advancement of Kogi State.

 

The visit concluded with a mutual commitment to work together to explore the state’s rich resources and unlock its revenue potential, setting the stage for enhanced economic growth and prosperity, in line with the vision of the Chief Servant of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo (FCA)
