Kogi State Signage and Advertising Agency (KOSSAA) says it is committed to regulating signage and advertisement across the State.
General Manager of the Agency, Asiwaju Richard Osaseyi stated this while speaking with Newsmen during an enforcement exercise in Lokoja.
KOSSAA to Commence Removal of Indiscriminate Planting of Billboards
Asiwaju Osaseyi, who expressed satisfaction with the level of compliance of some individuals and businesses, said those placing billboards, posters and other outdoor advertising materials without permits are at risk of a fine or two months in prison.
According to him, defaulting businesses were served notice with two reminders, saying signpost defacing public structure will be removed.
He explained that apart from generating revenue for government, the Agency is committed to bringing sanity to outdoor advertising placement.
Asiwaju Osaseyi noted that Lokoja the State Capital is currently being used as pilot metropolis, adding that the exercise will be extended to other parts of the State.
He thanked those that have cooperated with the Agency, urging those who are yet to pay the Advert permit to do so or face the wrath of the law.
