A new grassroots movement, Working People United, was officially unveiled in Abuja on March 6, 2026, with the aim of mobilizing Nigerians to support the continuation of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s reforms and policies geared towards national development and economic stability.

The movement’s coordinator, Comrade Williams Eniredonana Akporeha, stated that Working People United represents the collective voice of workers, artisans, traders, farmers, professionals, and everyday Nigerians who are the backbone of the country’s economy.

In his address, Akporeha praised President Tinubu’s bold reforms and policies, saying they demonstrate courage, foresight, and commitment to building a stronger Nigeria.

He highlighted the administration’s pro-working people achievements, including social investment programs, direct cash transfers, and initiatives to improve access to credit for small businesses.

The movement aims to educate, mobilize, and empower citizens to support policies that promote national progress, and reject the politics of misinformation and division.

Akporeha called on Nigerians to join the movement, emphasizing that it is not a praise-singing gathering, but a national awakening among working people who understand that Nigeria’s future must be built through unity, hard work, and responsible leadership.

The launch event was attended by various stakeholders, including labour leaders, market women, youth leaders, and professionals.
