Benid Industries Limited has used the occasion of Yawm Al-‘Arafah and the approaching Eid al-Adha celebrations to renew its call for personal sacrifice, responsible governance, and nationwide tax transparency.
In a statement released ahead of the festival, the company’s Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Bartholomew Chukwuma Idoko, said the period should inspire Nigerians to look beyond personal gain and commit to actions that strengthen the country.
“Nation-building is not a spectator sport,” Dr. Idoko said. “It requires leaders and citizens who are willing to give up comfort, convenience, and even personal interest for the sake of a better Nigeria.”
Founded in 2002 and based in Ikare, Ondo State, Benid Industries manufactures and distributes a range of beverages including Benid Squad Rum, Kakaraka Bitters, Mac Ben Dry Gin, Gbefun, Yagor, Oguro, and Don Bravo Wine. The company says its growth strategy has focused on expanding operations, creating jobs, and supporting local supply chains across the region.
Beyond its business operations, Benid Industries has invested in community programs covering education, security, water infrastructure, and youth development. Its social initiatives include the establishment of Kakaraka Football Club and the provision of scholarships in underserved communities. In April 2025, Dr. Idoko was conferred with an Honorary Doctorate in Business Administration and Management by Prowess University for his contributions to entrepreneurship and public welfare.
A key part of the company’s recent public engagement has been its collaboration with Sanity Multi-Efforts Limited/Forum on revenue transparency. Under the 2025–2026 Presidential Tax Reform Policy, the partnership has written to revenue authorities in all 36 states and the FCT seeking clarification on lawful road taxes, approved payment channels, and legal backing for collections.
According to Dr. Idoko, the initiative is rooted in a sense of civic duty. “We stepped forward because the burden of illegal road taxes is crushing small businesses and ordinary Nigerians. If we don’t speak up, who will? This is about protecting livelihoods and restoring trust in our system.”
The company said the response from transport unions, manufacturers, churches, and fleet operators has shown the widespread need for clarity and fairness in tax administration.
As Eid al-Adha is expected to be observed on May 27, 2026, subject to moon sighting, Benid Industries urged customers, distributors, and partners to celebrate responsibly and support efforts that promote social cohesion and economic inclusion.
