Kogi State Government is set to establish a Faculty of Medicine at the State University, Kabba.
The Commissioner for Education, Wemi Jones, disclosed this at a mega empowerment and decamping ceremony held in Oke Offin, Bunu, Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area.
Jones said the state government is rehabilitating the General Hospital, Kabba, to support the take-off of the new faculty.
He said the people of Kabba-Bunu and Okun land remain grateful to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for his infrastructural investments in the area, citing ongoing erosion control works in Kabba and the planned flag-off of the Kabba-Oke Offin-Olle-Iluke road as evidence of the administration’s commitment.
The commissioner also disclosed that government is working to revive the Kabba Water Works to address the area’s water challenges.
Speaking on the 2027 general elections, Jones said the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), having absorbed members of opposition parties, is positioned to deliver victory for all its candidates.
He added that the state currently has no opposition, attributing this to what he described as the Governor’s purposeful leadership.
