The Kogi State First Lady, Hajia Sefinat Usman Ododo, has paid a condolence visit to the family and children of the late former Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, to offer her heartfelt sympathy and support following the passing of the former governor.
During the visit, Hajia Sefinat expressed her condolences to the bereaved family, acknowledging the pain and difficulty that came with the loss of a father and patriarch.
She encouraged the children and the entire family to remain steadfast in faith and take solace in Allah, who gives life and determines the appointed time of every soul.
The First Lady urged them to draw strength from Allah and the cherished memories of the years shared with their father, assuring them that although the loss is painful, Allah knows what is best for His servants.
She also encouraged the children and the entire family to remain united in prayer, love and faith, reminding them that every soul will ultimately return to its Creator.
Hajia Sefinat reflected on the late Alhaji Ibrahim Idris’ years of service to Kogi State, noting that he contributed to the development of the state during his tenure as Governor from 2003 to 2012.
She noted that his administration pursued programmes and projects across various sectors, with attention to the welfare and development of the people, including women and children.
The First Lady urged the family to take comfort in the life he lived, the people he touched and the contributions he made to the development of Kogi State.
Mrs Ododo prayed that Almighty Allah forgive his shortcomings, accept his good deeds, illuminate and widen his grave, and grant him Aljannatul Firdaus.
She also prayed that Allah grant his children and the entire family patience, strength and comfort to bear the loss.
“May Almighty Allah comfort you and the entire family at this difficult time. May He strengthen you, give you the grace to bear this loss and grant the departed Aljannatul Firdaus. We are all from Allah and unto Him is our return,” she said.
Hajia Sefinat assured the family of her prayers and support, while praying that Almighty Allah grant the deceased eternal rest and give the family the fortitude to bear the loss.
