An Elder Statesman and Frontline Politician in Kogi State, Dr. Toyin Akanle has hinted that he cannot Quit Politics as he believe in raising people.
Dr. Akanle made this disclosure while speaking with Newsmen at his country home, Isanlu Makutu on the celebration of his birth Anniversary.
He explained that his silence in Politics was not because he has quitted Politics but in his word “I am not a Noise Maker.”
There are time for a wise man to obey the dictate of time and season and there is an appointed time for all things. You have to do things at the appointed time. You don’t just do things at the wrong time, what do you get? A wrong result.
According to him, the need to lift up people especially vibrant and focused Leaders is the reason why he will not quit politics so as to impact meaningfully on the people.
We have to continue to lift people up because I am a Beacon that people can follow. Am a light that can shine into the darkness of people. Am not sure if I will be seeking elective positions but if need be.
“I can count up to 4 Governors that I installed and can confidently ask them, How did you become a Governor. I can mention names. I went on my knees to beg God on their behalf but they misbehaved after getting there.” He stated.
He however pointed out that most people misunderstand him but he is not deterred about whatever people think about him.
If you want to work with me, You must believe in me, you must do things that I believe in, so if we agree, why not, we can work together. I don’t leave for anybody’s expectation because I don’t have to satisfy you, it is God that can satisfy all of us.
He noted that he is dedicating days to appreciate God’s faithfulness for this year’s birthday and prayed for more blessings to enable him make many people happy.
