The Akinrin of Ekinrin Inter-School Debate Competition has continued to make progress with four schools booking a place for the next stage of the highly competitive outing.
The competition is being organized for Schools in Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency.
Earlier for the second stage of the debate competition, eight schools namely; Emmanuel international Academy Iyara, CHS Iyara, Ijumu, Anglican Science Secondary School Iyara, Muslim High school Iyara, GSSSS Egbeda Egga, BHS Ekinrin Adde, CCC Ekinrin Adde and Lightcom International Academy Ekinrin Adde had slug it out.
At the end of the second stage, Emmanuel International Academy, Iyara emerged winner 383 points in the debate with CHS Iyara which had 380 points.
Also, Ijumu Anglican Science Secondary School, Iyara scored 356 to edge out Muslim High School, Iyara who got 330 points.
While GSSS Egbeda Egga defeated BHS Ekinrin Adde with 508 points, Lightcom International Academy, Ekinrin Adde won CCC Ekinrin Adde with 363 points.
Reacting to the progress made so far, Comrade Aribido David Jayeoba expressed satisfaction with the competition, saying all the results indicated very competitive rounds, with some matches being decided by narrow margins.
Aribido commended participating schools for demonstrating brilliance and making themselves proud with their performances.
He expressed joy that schools in the area have sustained their tradition of producing top quality students.
The Competition aimed at promoting intellectual discourse within the Federal Constituency and has been supported by HRM Oba Johnson Kolade Otitoju, Egbo Lona I, the Akinrin of Ekinrin.
