Be alive to your responsibilities- MERD Commissioner charges Kogi RAAMP staff

The Kogi State Commissioner of the re-branded Ministry of Energy and Rural Development, Engineer Mohammed Muktar has called on staff of the Kogi state Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (KG-RAAMP) to ensure quality service delivery in the discharge of their duties.

Engineer Mohammed who made the call during his maiden visit to the project office in Lokoja, stressed the need for them to be alive to their responsibilities adding that as community development workers, keeping accurate data is important for the present and future purposes.

 

The Commissioner used the occasion to thank Governor Yahaya Bello for ensuring the state participation in the project noting that the rural transformation drive of the new direction administration remains sacrosanct as demonstrated through prompt payment of counterpart fund and other support as may be required.

Also, speaking, the permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mallam Hussain Isah Sule described the Commissioner as an impeccable personality that has the requisite intellect to move the Ministry forward.

Mallam Hussain who is also the Chairman of the state project monitoring committee(SPMC) of RAAMP, expressed confidence in the successful implementation of the project adding that all hands are on deck towards the realisation of the objectives of RAAMP which is aimed at improving the quality of life of the rural populace.

While welcoming the commissioner, the state project coordinator, Engineer Sheidu Obansa Adamu said the project is enjoying the robust support of the state Government adding that the state is faring excellently in its activities in line with the specifications and standards stipulated by the donor partners of the World Bank(WB) and the French Development Agency(AFD).

Engineer Obansa noted with delight the quality of staff of the project, assuring that the state will continue to do well in all ramifications.

 

Highpoint of the visit was the commissioning of two Hilux van by the Commissioner on behalf of Governor Yahaya Bello for operational use of the project a midst cheers from the staff.
