FG Performs Ground Breaking Ceremony of Smart Police Station in Kogi

The Nigerian Police Trust Fund has performed the ground breaking ceremony of a smart police station in Ekinrin Adde, Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State.

 

The move according to the Agency is aimed at repositioning the Police for better service delivery particularly, using technology to fight crimes and criminality.

 

The Executive Secretary of the NPTF, Alhaji Mohammed Seidu Femi performed the ground breaking ceremony at Ekinrin Adde.

 

Alhaji Mohammed said the Smart Police station building is the initiative of the Trust Fund under the leadership of the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun meant to provide a more conducive environment for personnel of the Nigeria Police Force as well as boost their operational efficiency.

 

According to him, the project which is being constructed across the Six geopolitical zones of the country will be furnished with latest equipment to combat crimes and criminality.

 

He charged the contractor to deliver the project according to specification and for the community to protect it and work with the personnel to deployed thereafter.

 

In a remark, Kogi State Commissioner Of Police, Bethrand Onuoha said the project when completed will boost the operational efficiency of the officers under his command.

 

On measures to check the spate of crimes and criminality across the State, the CP said measures have been put in place to nip crime the bud before, during and after the festive season.

 

Speaking, the Head of equipment and project of the Nigeria Police Trust Fund, NPTF, Lawal Aliu said the project expected to be delivered by the first quarter of next year will be furnished and well equipped according to standard.

 

In his remark, the Olu Adde of Ekinrin Adde, HRM. Olu Anthony Bamigbaiye Idowu  expressed appreciation to the IGP and the Trust Fund for citing the project in the community which he stressed will improve the security of the area.

 

Also in his speech, the Executive Chairman of Ijumu Local Government Area, Alhaj Ibrahim Haruna promised to provide an enabling environment for the successful completion of the project.
