Funfair as Braimoh, Akanle, Asiru, Others Light Up Agbana of Isanlu 2nd Anniversary

Dignitaries from all walks of life at the weekend stormed the 2nd Anniversary of Agbana Isanlu, HRM. Oba Moses Babatunde Etombi and Launching of N500m Appeal Fund for the Building of Agbana Palace Complex.

An Abuja-based Businessman, Mr. Olayinka Braimoh, Assistant Director General of Department of State Security (retired), Dr. Toyin Akanle, Kogi State Commissioner of Finance, Budget and Economic Planning, Asiwaju Idris Asiru, who represented Governor Yahaya Bello were among personalities that graced the occasion.

Speakers after Speakers lauded the innovation of leadership brought onboard by the Yagba East Paramount Ruler, which they noted has ushered good tidings and unity to Isanlu Kingdom.

The National President of a sociocultural group, Isanlu Progressive Union (IPU), Bashorun Adedayo Kayode says Isanlu Kingdom in Yagba East Local Government of Kogi State has enjoyed uninterrupted peace and unity in the last 2 years when he ascended the throne of his ancestors.

According to the President, the Monarch has demonstrated steadfastness and sterling Leadership qualities that has endeared Isanlu people to join force with him to move the Community to enviable heights.

In his words ” Today, we rejoice with HRM. Oba Moses Babatunde Etombi for his steadfastness, sterling leadership qualities, how God has helped him to attain this prestigious position peacefully and for achieving so much in this short time of his reign. Unarguably, Isanlu Kingdom has progress in all it nooks and crannies. Our people have continued to enjoy the blessings of God in their businesses and all endeavours.”

He particularly hailed the Agbana for giving prompt and uninterrupted priority to issues of security which according to him has made the Community safe for indigenes as well as visitors residing in Isanlu land.

Other successes recorded during the two years reign of Oba Etombi according to Bashorun Kayode are; establishment of National Open University (NOUN) Study Centre, Isanlu Campus of Kogi State College of Education Technical, Tele-Medicine Centre Isanlu, ongoing University of Medicine and College of Nursing and Isanlu General Hospital.

He used the occasion to congratulate,High Chief Gloria Dubi Ilemore on here Coronation as Yeye Oba of Isanlu Kingdom, describing the elevation as well deserved.

The Co-Chief Launcher, Mr. Olayinka Braimoh, who is an Abuja based Businessman felicitated with the Agbana Isanlu on the celebration, pointing out that the building of a Palace for the King is long overdue.

Mr. Braimoh, who pledged a donation of N10m, commended promised his continued support to Isanlu people at all times.

On his part, the Commissioner of Finance, Budget and Economic Planning, Asiwaju Idris Asiru said building of a befitting Palace for Attah Igala and President Kogi State Council of Chiefs, Obaro of Kabba and Agbana of Isanlu have been included in the twenty-twenty three Budget which was approved by the State Executive Council recently.

According to him, the Modern General Hospital Isanlu will soon be completed and the Contractor has returned to site the finish the job.

While congratulating Oba Etombi on his second Anniversary, the Commissioner expressed appreciation to the people of Isanlu for their support to the New Direction Administration of Governor Yahaya Bello.

He added that the Anniversary of the Isanlu Paramount Ruler is worth celebrating in view of the successes recorded upon his ascension to the throne.

The Agbana of Isanlu, Oba Moses Babatunde Etombi noted that apart from assessing the journey of the past two years, the ceremony was to gather resources for the building of modern Palace.

According to him, “In this last two years, we have taken some bold steps to address some very pressing issues in social, cultural and developmental challenges facing our dear kingdom, such as increases in land disputes, lost of cultural valus disunity insecurity and youth restiveness drug abuses and declining interest and performance in educational attainment.

He added that Farmers-Herders clashes has reduced drastically due to the measures put in place and tasked all Isanlu sons and daughters to support the task of developing the Community to the admiration of all.

The event featured traditional display by Yagba East Local Government Cultural Troupe, Tiv among others as well as fund raising for the Palace project.
