Gov. Bello Approves New Retirement Age for Kogi Teachers

Kogi State Governor, Alh. Yahaya Bello has approved a new retirement age and length of service for teachers in the State.

 

This is contained in a statement by the State Head of Service, Hannah Odiyo and obtained by The Drum Reporters.

RE: IMPLEMENTATION OF THE NEW RETIREMENT AGE AND LENGTH OF SERVICE FOR THE TEACHING PROFESSION IN KOGI STATE

Following the enactment of the harmonized retirement age of Sixty-Five (65) years and Length of Service of Forty (40) years Act, 2022 signed into law by the President, Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari, His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, the Executive Governor of Kogi State has graciously approved the Implementation of the New Retirement Age of Sixty-Five (65) years and Length of Service of Forty (40) years for the Teaching Profession in Kogi State.

 

It should be noted that, guidelines exist on the implementation of the scheme. However, those who are not interested should apply for retirement from Service in accordance to the prescription of the Public Service Rules,
