The Bunu Development Association (BDA) says it remains committed to unity, development, and the collective welfare of the Bunu people.
This is contained in a Communiqué issued at the end of the National Executive Council Meeting of the Association held at Okebukun, Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area following the growing security concern in the District.
The Association noted that despite the rising security threats in Bunu land, among other pressing developmental issues requiring urgent collective action, it is optimistic of an end soon.
The Communiqué which was signed by the National President of the Association, Pastor Kolawole Johnson Folorunsho condoled with the family of Late Pastor Major Joe Ajayi (Rtd), a former National President of the Association, who died in the hands of his abductors.
“The Association extends its heartfelt condolences to his immediate family, the Odo-Ape community, Bunu District, the Kogi State Government, and the nation at large for this painful loss.
The Association resolved to initiate an advocacy visit to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo to draw urgent attention to the dire security situation and to solicit intensified government intervention.
It added that the body has resolved to convene a Stakeholders’ Meeting scheduled to hold on Saturday, 28th June 2025, at Iluke-Bunu to deliberate on key issues affecting the land and chart a path forward.
The Association prayed for the restoration of peace and harmony in Bunu land, Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area, Kogi State, and the country.
