The Chairman of Ijumu Local Government, Alhaji Ibrahim Haruna on Tuesday presented about ₦6,181,036,790 budget proposal to the 7th Legislative Council for next year.
Tagged “Budget of Revitalisation, Economic Growth and Development, the Financial Document is aimed at stimulating economic revitalization, reduce poverty, create jobs, enhance peace and security, and ensure transparency and accountability in governance.

The revenue sources for the appropriation bill include ₦3,209,602,450 expected as statutory allocation, ₦2,468,336,100 from Value Added Tax (VAT), ₦276,685,940 from special funds, and ₦47,412,300 as internally generated revenue.
The Chairman emphasized his administration’s commitment to infrastructure development, financial empowerment for residents, and fostering social and economic growth.
He highlighted the importance of providing opportunities for youths, children, men, and women to contribute meaningfully to the local government’s development.
The Chairman expressed gratitude to the 7th Legislative Council for their cooperation and urged them to critically review the budget for the benefit of the local government.
The Leader of the Legislative Council commended the Chairman for his proactive leadership and assured a speedy passage of the budget to facilitate development.
Dignitaries at the event included the Special Adviser on Primary Health Care to the Governor of Kogi State, the Senior Special Assistant on Political Matters (SGS Office), the Senior Special Assistant on Local Content to the Governor, the Vice Chairman of the Local Government, the Secretary to the Local Government, Local Government political appointees, the Director of Personnel Management, the Local Government Treasurer, other management staff, and Ijumu citizens.
