More impactful health initiatives will be rolled out by the Kogi State Government to improve the health of citizens.
Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo stated this at the Government House, Lokoja while flagging off distribution of 2 Hilux vans and 42 motorcycles for the HIV/AIDS – TB Elimination Programme in Kogi State.
Represented by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Salami Ozigi, Governor Ododo disclosed that deliberate health policies and programmes were being put in place to improve the health indices.
Alhaji Ododo further applauded the Global Fund, implementing partners and the federal government for their support.
Kogi State Commissioner for Health, Doctor Abdulazeez Adams said HIV/AIDS and TB continue to ravage communities hence the need for proper surveillance.
Doctor Adams however decried poor documentation among challenges hindering the success of the campaigns.
Earlier in a remark, Doctor Komolafe Rotimi, the Director Public Health Kogi, pointed out that monitoring had ensured that over 8 thousand cases of TB had been treated in the last one year.
