Humanitarian Service: Osaseyi Foundation to Extend Scholarship, Teachers Empowerment to Yagba land

A Non Governmental Organization known as Osaseyi Foundation has promised to extend its scholarship and teachers empowerment programme to Yagba Federal Constituency, Kogi State.

Chief Executive Officer of the Foundation, Mr. Richard Osaseyi made this known while speaking with Newsmen at the presentation of scholarships to best performing students in Mathematics, Science and Art Subjects.

The Students, numbering 108 where picked from the 36 secondary schools in Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency and were given exercise books to aid their learning process.

Also, Best Students in the 2022 SSCE West African Examination Council, (WAEC) Both male and female were given N100, 000 each to ease their University Education with a promise for more help.

While the Male category was christened, Obaro and Olujumu Best WAEC Students while the Female was tagged Olubunu and Olu Gbede Best WAEC Students.

Similarly, 72 Teachers were given cash gift to boost their morale in the teaching profession.

Speaking at the Ceremony, the Chief Executive Officer of the Foundation, Mr. Richard Osaseyi said the gesture was his own way of fulfilling the Command of God to give back to the society.

Mr. Osaseyi noted that instead of building houses and amassing wealth for himself, he has decided to build mansion in the hearts of the young generation towards making them responsible Nigerians in the nearest future.

“If a build a mansion for my children or family today, my children will leave the House one day and go to their own house. This scholarship is my own way of building the next next Doctors, Lawyers etc all from Ijumu Local Government.” he stated.

He stated that the gesture was also a way of institutionalizing the legacies of his Late father, who until his death was known for his generosity and philanthropic disposition.

The Chairman charged the beneficiaries to justify the effort of the Foundation by working hard and come out with flying colours in their examination.

He payed glowing tribute to Teachers and School Administrators for their selfless sacrifice, assuring of his continued support to the body.

The Obaro of Kabba, Oba Solomon Owoniyi commended the initiative, calling on other Okun sons and daughters to emulate the Foundation.

 

In a presentation on Chosing a Career, Mrs. Oluwatoyin Omeiza of Federation of Female Lawyers, (FIDA) advised parents to avoid forcing courses on their children and wards.

“Let your strength guide you in choosing a career, ask yourself, what do you like doing most? What are your unique skills? What are the things i have that others don’t have? Don’t force any child to do what they don’t want to do and maximize your strength and opportunity”

 

Responding on behalf of the Students, Ayo Rotimi Segun of St. Barnabas College Kabba expressed delight over the gesture and prayed God to Reward Mr.Osaseyi.
