Ijumu Caretaker Chairman Donates Ramadan Packages to Hausa/Fulani Community

The Transition Caretaker chairman Ijumu LGA, Alhaji Ibrahim Haruna (DSTV) on Thursday donated food items to hausa/ Fulani in Ijumu LGA in the spirit of the Ramadan fast.

 

The Chairman, who made the donation congratulated the Hausa/Fulani Community on this year’s Ramadan.

 

He charged them to use the Holy month of Ramadan to pray for lasting peace in the country, Kogi State and Ijumu land.

 

He also appeal to them to pray earnestly for the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for him to succeed in his quest to sustain the outstanding legacies of his predecessor, Alh. Yahaya Bello.

 

The Transition Caretaker Chairman enjoined them to imbibe the lessons of Ramadan by obeying the teachings of the Holy Quran.

 

The Transition Caretaker chairman said “Islam recognises assistance to the needy especially in this holy month of Ramadan.

 

“As Muslims, in the Holy Qur’an, the Almighty Allah has commanded and encouraged giving out and assistance to the needy during this period.

 

“I , therefore, call on well-meaning individuals and political office holders to provide similar assistance to people in their respective communities, in order to reduce hardship among people,’’ he said.

 

Alhaji Ibrahim Katoro, who responded on behalf of the hausa/Fulani, appreciated the caretaker chairman for the gestures , and prayed God to grant the caretaker chairman long life and good health in discharging his duties.
