This year’s Iyah Gbede Day, a celebration of the rich cultural heritage of the people of the Community in Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State holds on 11th October 2025.
The key focus of this year’s edition is the ground breaking ceremony of the Cottage Hospital for the Community.
According to Dr. Emmanuel Jeminiwa, National President, Iyah Gbede Development Association (IDA), the Day with the theme “Bridging Generational Infrastructure Gaps to Foster Sustainable Community Growth and Development” will hold at Multipurpose Town Hall, Iyah Gbede at 11 o’clock in the morning.
Eminent dignitaries from all walks of life as well as friends of the Community are Set to Storm the community for the event.
The member representing Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency, Arc. Salman Idris is the Chairman of the Occasion with Hon. Omotayo Adeleye Ishaya, member representing Ijumu Constituency at Kogi State House of Assembly as Chairlady.
While the Vice Chancellor, Federal University Lokoja, Peof. Olayemi Akinwumi is the Special Guest of Honour, Prof. Gbenga Ibileye, immediate Past Dean, School of Post Graduate Studies, FUL and HRM. Oba Muyiwa Ibeun, Elulu of Mopa and Chairman Mopamuro Traditional Council are Guest Speaker and Distinguished Royal Father respectively.
The Olujumu of Ijumu Kingdom, HRM. Oba Williams Olusegun Ayeni is the Royal Father of the Day, while HRH. Oba David Tayo Faleke, the Olu of Iyah Gbede is the Royal Host.
