The Governorship Aspirant on the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Kogi, Asiwaju Asiru Idris, has assured that the ruling party would clear all the 25 House of Assembly seats in the state.
Idris gave the assurance on Saturday while speaking with journalists after casting his ballot at his polling unit in Isanlu, Yagba East Local Government Area of Kogi.
Idris, who was the immediate past Kogi Commissioner for Finance and Budget Planning, said the election witnessed a large turnout in his polling unit.
According to him, this particular election is very close to the people and the electorate are happy to cast their ballots.
”They are not intimidated because they believe it is their right to vote for their right candidate.
”I believe with the turnout so far, APC is going to clear all the 25 Kogi House of Assembly seats, starting from plling unit here.
”For my polling unit the turnout is more than the Presidential and National Assembly elections conducted three weeks ago, because the people see this election as their own as they are closer to the candidate.
The APC governorship aspirant commended Gov. Yahaya Bello, for his unprecedented achievements in office for the past seven years.
Idris assured the people that he would consolidate and accelerate the governor’s giant developmental strides in the state.
”I am as ready, willing and able to lead Kogi people on the part of accelerated development because the governor my boss, has groomed me for the job.
The Kogi governorship Primaries would hold in April, while the governorship election will be conducted in November.
