The Chairman, Kogi State House of Service Commission, Alhaji Andas Abdulmalik has assured of Members renewed commitment in the discharge of their statutory roles.
Alhaji Andas gave the assurance at the inaugural meeting of the Commission in Lokoja.
He said given the privilege of reappointment by Governor Yahaya Bello, the onus now lies on them to reciprocate the gesture by doubling their efforts in providing policy guildlines and direction to the staff and must not play the mediocre role before them.
The past four years the Chairman noted, have equipped them with necessary experience needed for the job and called for more commitment and dedication in the delivery of service to the staff.
According to him, their responsibility entails their constant presence at work to over see the affairs and conduct of the supportive staff in their daily work and also involves training, workshops, seminars and conferences to update Staff for optimum productivity.
He expressed gratitude to God for the rear privilege to return to office the second time and promised that they would continue to provide true leadership geared towards effective and efficient service delivery.
“The Commission will not relent in it’s efforts at giving the best and that whatever lapses witnessed in the past four years would be corrected to achieve more outstanding results that would be enduring.”
He told the Members that as full time Commission Officers, they must be prepared at all times to do their best and enjoined them not to wait until they are coarsed to carry out their roles.
He also expressed immerse gratitude to the Governor for reconsidering them to serve again and assured that they would work more to justify the confidence reposed in them.
Alhaji Andas commended the Speaker and Members of the House for their support and understanding that enabled them returned to office.
At the inaugural meeting of the Members, Secretary to the Commission, Comrade Olorunmaiye J. Yemisi was reaffirmed to carry out her administrative assignment.
In her remark, the Commission Secretary promised to put in her best in the discharge of her responsibility.
Comrade Yemisi commended Governor Yahaya Bello for being gender sensitive giving opportunity to women to excel in their chosen career and assured of her commitment to work at all times.
She also thanked the Speaker and His Members as well as the Commission Members for the role they played in ensuring her reappointment and reaffirmation, promising not to disappoint them.
Earlier in their separate remarks, Hon. Arome Adoji, Hon. Shedrack Anayi and Hon. Ahmed Musa extolled the leadership qualities of the State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello whom they described as a humane Leader who has the people’s interest at heart, thanking him for reappointing them.
They said having garnered some experience in their first term in office, they would give their best in this second term to address some of the challenges they were confronted with in the past and ensure they leave behind a better legacy upon the expiration of their term in office.
The Commission Members also commended the Chairman for his leadership style and promised to sustain the collaborative role exhibited all through the last four years for the progress of the Commission.
