The First Lady of Kogi State, Hajia Sefinat Usman Ododo, has expressed deep sorrow over the painful loss of citizens who died in a tragic road accident while returning from the World Disability Day commemoration in Lokoja on Wednesday.
In a statement by the The First Lady’s Media Office, she described the tragedy as a heartbreaking moment for the entire state and for her in particular having shared common values and enjoyed the warmth of the company of many of those involved in the accident.
Hajia Sefinat Ododo said her heart aches for the affected families, sharing in their grief and praying for strength in this dark and difficult period, noting that no words can fully comfort families who have been thrown into unexpected mourning by the unfortunate loss of their loved ones.
The First Lady said the news of the fatalities came as a terrible shock, adding that every life lost is a loss to Kogi State, extending her prayers to those who sustained injuries and wishing them a swift recovery.
“With a mother’s heart, I stand with every family touched by this tragedy. Our departed loved ones will be remembered for the worthy lives they lived. May Allah in His infinite mercy forgive their shortcomings and grant them peace in the hereafter.” She said.
Hajia Sefinat Ododo urged the bereaved families to take solace in the will of God, assuring them that they are not alone and that the entire state stands with them in solidarity and compassion in this difficult moment.
She earnestly prayed that Almighty Allah grant the souls of the departed Aljannah Firdaus and grant their families the strength to bear this painful loss.
