A frontline Kogi State female group, South East Yagba Development Association, Women Wing (SEYDAW) has elected new officials to run affairs of the Association for the next three years as the Chief Ebun Joel led administration handed over in grand style.
The new officials emerged at a free, fair and transparent election at the Congress of the Women Association held in Lokoja.
In her remarks, the outgone President of SEYDAW, Chief Ebun Joel said the sociocultural group is non-governmental, non political, non religious and non profit organisation.

Chief Joel noted that the Women Association has over the years contributed to girl child education, wellbeing, unity, economic Empowerment and sustainable development among women and youths in South East Yagba.

The outgone President who took time to give an accurate account of her stewardship, explained that key achievements of the immediate Past Officials are; registration of the group, purchase of office equipment, provision of Financial Structure, grants for Community based women projects.
Other remarkable achievements include; provision of education support including donations of magnetic whiteboard, 15,000 customized exercise books, provision market support interest free loan, financial and social support, establishment of Cooperative Society, promotion of Unity among others.
She used the opportunity to pay glowing tributes to the funding members of the Association for their vision for women and youths in South East Yagba, saying she has tried her best to build a solid foundation for the Association.
The former President particularly expressed the gratitude of the Association to Elder Leke Abejide, the member representing Yagba Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives for his generous donation of Hummer Bus to the group.
While congratulating the new officials on their successful emergence, Chief Joel thanked members for their cooperation and support, urging them to extend same to the new Executive.
SEYDAW Promises to Sustain Women, Girls Empowerment in South East Yagba
In their respective goodwill messages, the Elders of the Association, Hajia Mojisola Salaudeen, Mrs. A. A Olusegun among others applauded the humility of Chief Ebun Joel and urged the new Excos to justify the confidence reposed in them.
The newly elected President, Chief Iyabo Olubukola Ojo said the mission of the new Executive is to empower women, promote unity, and drive positive changes.
Also, the new Officials the President maintained will focus on educating the girl child, economic Empowerment and social justice.
She stated that the Association will support any course that will amplify voices of women and advocate policies that will benefit women.
Those elected are; Chief Mrs Iyabode Bukola Ojo, National President, Chief Mrs Modupe Toyin Awoniyi, Vice President, Olubukola. I. Awosanya, National Secretary, Mrs Clara Oluyemisi Fatimehin, Assistant Secretary.
Others are; Mrs Tolushe Oshanisi, National Treasurer, Hajia. A. Muhammed, National Financial Secretary, Chief Mrs Jumoke Onile, National Project Coordinator, Pastor Mrs Taiye Nissi, National Project Coordinator, Mrs Fagbemi Elizabeth Omowumi, National Social Secretary and Mrs Ajibade Comfort Toyin as National Social Secretary.
The rest are; Mrs Meduna Rachael Ibidun, National Public Relations officer, Mrs Abiodun Foluke Janet, National Public Relations officer, Hajia Sherifat Musa, Auditor, Hajia Kuburat Haruna, Ex-officio and Chief Mrs Joel Roseline Ebun as Initiator/ Immediate Past National President (INPP).
The Congress also featured election and inauguration of Coordinators in Communities across South East Yagba land.
