National President of Okun Development Association (ODA), a sociocultural group of the Yoruba people in Kogi State, Barr. Femi Mokikan says the time has come for Okun people to rise up and take over political space of the State.
Barr. Mokikan stated this in a statement to commemorate Christmas obtained by The Drum Reporters on Sunday in Lokoja.
“On behalf of the Executive members of Okun Development Association, wishes to felicitate with the people of Okun land on this auspicious occasion of Christmas celebration.”
“As we celebrate this most wonderful season of the year, it is our fervent wish that we use the special period to reflect on virtues that bind us together as one indivisible people with robust history and heritage.”
“As we gradually approach the election year, it is the wish of the ODA that the good people of Okun land garner the needed political will to change the narratives through the polls in their favour.”
According to him, “We must not by error of commission or omission miss it this time. The consequences of such are too grave to imagine.”
“While wishing the entire Okun people peaceful yuletide celebrations, we pray that the good Lord grant each and every one journey mercies to and from their destinations.
