Kogi Information Commissioner Tasks Political Parties on Strict Compliance with KOSSAA Rules

The Kogi State Ministry of Information and Communications recently conducted a familiarization visit to the Kogi State Signage and Advertisement Agency (KOSSAA). The delegation was led by the Commissioner for Information and Communications, Hon. Kingsley Fanwo, accompanied by the Technical Assistant to the Ministry, Mr. Ebenezer Adurodija, along with other management staff members. The visit took place on Tuesday

 

The General Manager of KOSSAA, Hon. Osaseyi Richard, warmly welcomed the team and expressed his gratitude for the timely and necessary visit. He praised the leadership qualities of Hon. Fanwo, acknowledging the passion demonstrated for the development of the state. Hon. Richard also commended the State Government for establishing KOSSAA, describing it as one of the fastest-growing agencies and a reflection of the government’s commitment to progress.

 

Established in 2022, KOSSAA is tasked with controlling, regulating, monitoring, and managing the mounting of billboards across Kogi State.

 

Hon. Richard explained that the agency is legally empowered to require all businesses with outdoor advertisements to register with KOSSAA.

He emphasized the agency’s readiness to increase revenue generation for state development but noted existing operational challenges that require urgent attention to achieve these goals.

 

Hon. Kingsley Fanwo, Commissioner for Information and Communications, praised the management and staff of KOSSAA for their commendable work since the agency’s inception.

 

He urged them to be patriotic and dedicated, reminding them that the revenue generated will significantly contribute to the state’s development. With the upcoming election year, Hon. Fanwo also stressed the importance of political parties adhering strictly to KOSSAA’s rules and regulations.

 

Also present, KOSSAA consultant Alhaji Ibrahim Aliyu expressed appreciation for the visit, noting that it demonstrated the State Government’s continued support for the Agency.

 

He extended gratitude to His Excellency, the Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for his unwavering commitment to the agency’s growth. Alhaji Aliyu assured that KOSSAA would continue to improve in fulfilling its duties.
