The State Security Adviser to Kogi State Government, Commander Jerry Omodara (rtd), has urged troops of the 12-Brigade Nigeria Army to keep pushing until the state is completely safe. He made this call during a visit to Olle Bunu, Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area, where he commiserated with the community over a recent bandit attack.

Omodara praised the troops for their efforts in curbing insecurity in Kabba/Bunu and surrounding areas. He assured them of Gov. Ahmed Usman Ododo’s commitment to their welfare and said the governor is working to address operational challenges.

The successes we’re seeing in the fight against insecurity is as a result of the doggedness and investment in Security by Governor Ododo. The Governor is investing heavily on technical expertise and support for security agencies and local vigilantes. With teamwork among security leads, Omodara said we will soon win the war, but we need the cooperation of every communities to add values particularly in our intelligence gathering.

Omodara was briefed on the troops’ activities, achievements, and challenges. He donated two operational motorcycles and food items to the 12 Brigade troops and gave pump action rifles to community hunters.

He also visited families of Williams Onemayin and Mr Olowo, who lost their lives in the attack, prayed for their souls, and vowed to bring perpetrators to justice. Omodara asked for support for the Nigerian Army and Hunters, saying troops will step up operations to ensure Bunu communities are safe.
