The Ologidi of Ogidi, Oba Rabiu Oladimeji Sule, will on the occasion of the Ogidi Day Festival, on Saturday, June 18, 2022, confer the coveted chieftaincy title of Yeye Atunluse of Ogidi on a retired public servant, Chief (Mrs) Ebun Roseline Joel.
A palace statement issued in Ogidi said Mrs. Joel was bring accorded the honour in appreciation of her love for Ogidi and her contributions to the educational development of the community.
The statement noted that as a top ranking staff and later permanent member of the Kogi State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Mrs. Joel was helpful in raising the standard of the schools in the community.
The statement said she also deserved the Ogidi’s honour and adulation for being a long standing friend of the community.
It said the people thought view that there was no better way and time to publicly demonstrate the love and appreciation of the community than to showcase her at the Ogidi Day Festival.
Mrs. Joel, an educationist and advocate of the rights of women and children holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Education.
She is the First Vice President of the National Council of Women’s Societies (NWCS), Kogi State Branch; National President of the Women’s Wing of the South East Yagba Development Association; Women Leader, Okun Development Association and a former President, Okun Ladies Association.
She is married with children and grandchildren.
