Ekinrin Adde Community in Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State was agog Weekend as some distinguished sons and daughters of the Community were honoured at this year’s Ekinrin Adde Award Night.
The Award night which was the 3rd Edition was organized by the Ekinrin Adde Community Development Association (EACDA) and in recognition of hard work, dexterity and selfless service to the Community as well as the chosen careers of the Awardees.
Five persons bagged the prestigious Community Service Award namely, Mrs. Yemisi Abdullahi, Hon. Sunday Arogundade, Engr. Dami Moses, Chairman of Abuja Branch, Olori Comfort Otitoju and Chief Ajibulu Omolere Friday.
Those inducted into the Omo Atata Hall of Fame are; a University Don, Professor Gbenga Ibileye of Federal University Lokoja, Kogi State Commissioner for Environment, Chief Victor Adewale Omofaiye, United Kingdom based Entrepreneur, Mr. Babatunde Makanjuola, Dr. Olufemi Jacob Oyekanmi and Special Apostle Femi Toba Ibiobamimo.
Speaking with The Drum Reporter shortly after receiving the Award, the Kogi State Commissioner for Environment, Chief Victor Adewale Omofaiye expressed appreciation to the Olu Adde of Ekinrin Adde, Olu Anthony Bamigbaye Idowu and the leadership of EACDA for the recognition done him.
Chief Omofaiye promised to continue to be committed to the development and peace of the Community, saying the Award will spur him to contribute more to the Community.
He assured that he will continue to be a good Ambassador of Ekinrin Adde Community and commended the Olu Adde for uniting sons and daughters of the Community.
On his part, the Mr. Babatunde Makanjuola said the Award was a reward for Hard work, assuring of his commitment to doing more work for the service of God and humanity.
