Following the Tuesday severe rainstorm that caused significant destruction across Egbeda-Egga and neighboring communities, including Ekinrin-Adde, the member representing Ijumu Constituency in Kogi State House of Assembly, Princess Omotayo Adeleye Ishaya has paid an On-the-Spot assessment to the affected Communities.

The devastating storm has left many families homeless and displaced, with properties worth millions of naira lost at the very beginning of the rainy season.
Worried by the magnitude of the damages, Princess Omotayo, visited the affected communities to personally assess the level of destruction.
The Lawmaker, who used the opportunity to get first hand information on the disaster, expressed deep concern and solidarity with the affected families.
She assured residents that her office would pursue prompt and meaningful intervention through constituency outreach efforts.
Princess Omotayo also made a passionate appeal to Kogi State, Alhaji Usman Ododo, the Kogi State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), and the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to urgently support the victims with relief materials, medical assistance, and resources for rebuilding.
This unfortunate incident once again highlights the urgent need for stronger climate resilience measures, improved drainage systems, and proactive disaster response strategies in vulnerable communities.
