RAAMP Project Promises More Rural Development in Kogi State

The Kogi State Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (KG-RAAMP) has promised to uphold the objectives of the project as envisioned and conceptualized by the immediate past administration for the overall development of rural communities in the state.

The State Project Coordinator, Engineer Sheidu Obansa Adamu while highlighting the activities of the project in an interview in Lokoja noted that with its objectives focused on rural communities, RAAMP would serve as a propeller and catalysts for progress and uplift the lives of the people through various intervention that seeks to improve rural infrastructure, enhance agricultural productivity, and promote market access for rural communities.

Engineer Obansa highlighted that the intervention in road infrastructure development aims to connect remote villages, towns, and agricultural areas to the mainstream economy thereby creating new opportunities for trade, commerce, and employment generation, fostering economic growth in rural areas, emphasizing that the development of agricultural value chains, will enable farmers to access better markets and obtain fair prices for their produce which will in-turn contribute to poverty reduction and improve the overall quality of life in rural communities.

Engineer Sheidu Obansa Adamu,while congratulating Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo on his successful inauguration described the re-appointment of Engineer Abdulmutalib Muhammed as Commissioner as a welcome development judging from his astuteness and pragmatism when he held sway as then Commissioner for Energy and Rural Development where RAAMP is domiciled.

The Coordinator expressed the view that with the passionate disposition of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, the project will leverage on the credit facility from the donor partners of the World Bank (WB) , and The French Development Agency (AFD) coupled with the State Government commitment to create lasting positive change in the lives of the people in the rural communities across the state stressing that RAAMP is poised in making significant impacts on rural development that will mark the beginning of a new era of progress and development and assured of the transformative effects of RAAMP under the leadership of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo.
