As the 2024 Edition of Ekinrin-Adde Day carnival draws nearer, preparations have been concluded to make the event a memorable one as the National Chairman of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Alhaji Shehu Gabam has been named as the chairman of the event.
The spokesperson of the Ekinrin-Adde Community Development Association, Mr. Adewale Victor Adekanye, made this known in a statement.

Ekinrin-Adde Day, is an annual event characterized by fundraising for community development, showcasing the community’s rich culture, and celebrating the commitment of the indigenes towards the growth and development of the rapidly growing community.
One of the events preceding the annual celebration is the new yam festival (Emindin). This festival marks the royal blessings and official approval for the harvest and consumption of yams by the community, as dictated by tradition.
Another notable feature of the annual carnival, is the Akogba Mountain Hike, which affords both young and old, the opportunity to participate in a trek-up to the zenith of the mountain.
Over the years, the Akogba Mountain Hike has attracted tourists and people from different parts of the world, drawn to the impressive mountain located to the northwest of the community.
Additionally, there is the glamorous Awards Night, which honors distinguished sons and daughters of the community with various awards.
The Night which is a major highlight of Ekinrin-Adde Day, will take place at the Ekinrin-Adde Events Centre on June 21st, 2024.
The 2024 Ekinrin-Adde Day Carnival will be particularly special, as, according to the community’s spokesperson, several eminent personalities have confirmed their attendance.
Among the honorees of the Day is; Alhaji Shehu Musa Gabam, who will serve as the Chairman of the Day and to be conferred with a Chieftaincy title Honoree, Barr. Ladi Ahmed Jatto, as the Chair Lady of the Day, and also a Chieftaincy Title Honoree.
Others distinguished personalities and friends of the community to be honored, include: the Managing Director of APPAYE Company Limited, Chief Richard Folorunsho Asaje and his wife; Chairman, PRACO International Limited, Chief & Chief Mrs. Success Obioma; the National Vice-Chairman of the Social Democratic Party, North-East Zone, Hon. (Pharm.) Wafarninyi Theman, among others.
Additionally, two illustrious sons of the community to be conferred with Honorary Chieftaincy titles at the event by His Royal Majesty, Olu-Adde of Ekinrin-Adde, Olu Anthony Bamigbaiye Idowu (Ahe-Maworo 1), CON, ACA, are: Mr Francis Ade Arotile, Managing Director, Ramadan Press, Bauchi, and his wife as Atadese and Yeye Atadese of Ekinrinrin-Adde, and the National Publicity Secretary of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Ambassador Rufus Aiyenigba as Araba of Ekinrin-Adde.
