Summit University Offa Promises Sustainable Academic Excellence, Matriculate New Students

Summit University, Offa Kwara State has Matriculated new students amidst pomp and pageantry.

The colourful event which was witnessed by a large number of guests, parents, lecturers, students, the representatives of the Commandant, Nigerian Navy College of Health Sciences, Rector, Federal Polytechnic, Offa, Rector, Graceland Polytechnic, Offa and the Rector, Lens Polytechnic, Offa and other numerous guests.

 

In his Welcome Address, the Vice-Chancellor, Engineer Professor Abiodun Musa Aibinu thanked  Allah for His generosity, benevolence and charity for making it possible for the University to hold another Matriculation Ceremony.

 

He reiterated the importance of matriculation in the lives of freshers as the compulsory ritual they must go through before they can become bonafide students of the University.

 

Prof. Aibinu congratulated the students for making Summit University, Offa their preferred University and promised that, they would never regret their choice and shall never feel inferior to their peers in other Universities.

 

He opined that, Summit University, Offa is ever committed to the pursuit of academic excellence that include research, innovation, invention and would prepare them to face daunting challenges they might face in future.

 

He admonished them not to get involved in a condition that could put them in a straitjacket dilemma and reminded them of the University’s zero tolerance for indiscipline and other social vices that include examination malpractice, thuggery, fighting, hooliganism, stealing, vandalism, drunkenness, advance fee fraud, sexual harassment and so on.

 

He also advised the matriculating students against indecent mode of dressing as the University frowns at the act, and enjoined them to always dress corporately and decently.

 

Prof. Aibinu did not forget to show appreciation to the Proprietor, Board of Trustees, Governing Council, Senate, Management, Staff and Students of Summit University, Offa, for their unalloyed support and cooperation. He pledged not to betray the confidence reposed in him and to work harder to achieve the vision of the Proprietor.

 

He also expressed appreciation to the host community, Offa, especially the Olofa of Offa, Oba Mufutau Moh’d Gbadamosi, Esuwoye II, and other prominent sons and daughters of Offa for their sustained support and urged them to do more.
