However,one of the first instances of online learning in the world can be traced back to 1960, at the University of Illinois, USA. Though the internet wasn’t invented back then, students began the learning from computer terminals that were interlinked to form a network.
The growth of online learning has been substantial in recent years, driven by technological advancements, increased accessibility, and the global COVID-19 pandemic. More than 20 million new learners registered for online courses in 2021 on platforms like Coursera.
Online platforms offers numerous advantages, including flexibility, accessibility, affordability, personalization, self- directed.
Online learning offers a flexible, accessible personalized way to acquire new skills and knowledge, making it an attractive option for many learners. Statistics revealed that the online learning industry is projected to reach $686.9 billion by 2030 and the online learning industry is estimated to reach $602 billion by 2030 also the global e-learning market is anticipated to reach $848.1 billion by 2030, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 17.53% between 2022 and 2030.
Here are some personal success stories of students who benefited from Online Learning: Jane Stephen a student who benefited from online learning said” As a student struggled in traditional classrooms but found success with AI tutoring and online learning increasing my Mathematics scores by 90%.”
