Tinubu, Yahaya Bello, Onaiyekan Others for Kabba Day

The 2022 edition of the annual Kabba Day celebrations which is scheduled to hold next month 5th November will be an epoch making event as the Central Planning Committee is prepared to host very important dignitaries from all walks of life to grace the occasion in Kabba township stadium, in Kogi state, North Central Nigeria.

 

According to the statement signed by the Central Planning Committee Chairman, Engr. Femi Olubiyo and made available to newsmen in Lokoja, he confirmed that all arrangements are in top gear to make the event a memorable one as all sub committees are working round the clock to make the occasion a success.

He said this year’s Theme is; Unity as an essential ingredient in actualizing great potentials of Kabba community while stressing that issues of security as a vital force in realizing the agricultural potential of the area will be given prominence. He said that the event will afford the people of (Owe) Kabba to come together to celebrate their rich culture and traditions with guests being expected across the globe to grace the occasion.

He noted that the event will also be used to raise funds for community development projects that will enhance the living standard of the people, pointing out that the committee targets five hundred million naira (N500m) minimum to be raised at the occasion.

The statement further confirmed that the Presidential Candidate of the ruling All Progressive Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu will be the Chairman of the occasion while Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State will be Special Guest of Honor, former Governor Ibrahim Idris aka Ibro will be the Guest of Honor while John Cardinal Onaiyekan, Catholic Archbishop of Abuja Emeritus will be the father of the day.

His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Solomon Dele Owoniyi, the Obaro of Kabba and Chairman, Okun Area Traditional Council will be the Royal Father of the day, Hon. Leke Abejide, member representing Yagba federal Constituency at the National Assembly will be the Chief Launcher of the occasion while the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Lokoja, Professor Olayemi Akinwumi will be the Guest Speaker, Provost of the Kogi State College of Education Technical, Kabba Mrs Jagboro Olushola Victoria will be the Mother of the day, Executive Chairman, Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area will the Chief Host of the event.

He said the President – General of the Kabba Development Union, Engr. Emmanuel Ajibero will be the host, while member representing Kogi West Senatorial Districts in the Senate Smart Adeyemi (CON), Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. (Prince) Matthew Kolawole, member representing Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Tajudeen Ayo Yusuf will be the co-hosts.

He urged all Kabba sons and daughters to rally round the committee to make the event a huge success, stressing that the event promises to be educative, entertaining and above all, it will be a celebration of the rich culture and traditions of the people of the ancient city of (Owe) Kabba.

He said the event will be held on the 5th November, 2022 at the Kabba Township Stadium, by 10am.
