The Ogidi Development Union has condoled with the Iyara Development Association over the passing of His Royal Highness, Oba Jacob Meduteni, the Eleta Oluyara, who joined his ancestors on Sunday, 30th August, 2026, after a three-year reign.

In a condolence letter signed by its President, Kayode Eniolorunda, the union, on behalf of the entire Ogidi Community, said it received the news of the monarch’s passing with great shock and profound sorrow.

The union described the late Kabiyesi as a father, a custodian of culture, and a bridge of peace between communities, noting that although his reign was brief, his impact was enduring, marked by wisdom, humility and genuine commitment to the unity and development of his people.

Eniolorunda said the Ogidi Development Union stands in prayer with the Iyara Kingdom during this period of grief, and extended solidarity and heartfelt condolences to the Royal Family and all subjects of the kingdom.

The union prayed that the Almighty would grant the departed monarch’s soul eternal rest, and grant the Iyara Kingdom, his immediate family and subjects the fortitude to bear the loss.
