Olujumu, Elulu, Faleke Performs Ground Breaking Ceremony of Cottage Hospital Iyah Gbede

The Olujumu of Ijumu Kingdom, HRM. Oba Williams Olusegun Ayeni, Elulu of Mopa, Oba Muyiwa Ibeun and the Olu Iyah Gbede on Saturday performed the ground breaking ceremony of the proposed Cottage Hospital in Iyah Gbede, Ijumu Local Government Area.

This was part of the activities lined up for the 55th Iyah Gbede Day and to meet the health needs of the people.

The Olujumu of Ijumu, in his remarks commended the leadership of Iyah Gbede Development Association (IDA) for their unrelenting effort in Community development which Iyah Gbede has been known for.

According to Oba Ayeni, the move is apt and timely, coming at the time that the population of Gbede land is increasing occasioned by the establishment of Mangal Cement.

He called on well meaning Nigerians to support the Project with generous donation, praying to God for provision to complete the job in the shortest possible time.

On his part the Elulu of Mopa, described the initiative as laudable and remarkable, saying the Community has remained a role model for others in Okun land.

According to him, 55 years of celebrating the Community Day is a milestone that has birthed development and provided a platform for unity of purpose.

While assuring of his support to the Cottage Hospital Project, Oba Ibeun appealed to public spirited individuals to assist the Community and actualize the dream as soon as possible.

In his remarks on, the Olu of Iyah Gbede, Oba David Faleke noted that the Community has been known for self help as it cannot depend on the government alone, saying Iyah Gbede is in need of better Health Institution.

Oba Faleke, who applauded sons and daughters of the Community for their support and contributions, expressed optimism that the project will be completed in due time.

The National President of Iyah Gbede Development Association (IDA), Dr. Emmanuel Jeminiwa explained that the Primary Health Care Centre in the Community can no longer serve the growing populace, hence the proposed Cottage Hospital.

Dr. Jeminiwa stated that proposed Hospital when completed is expected to be equipped with state-of-the-art equipment that is needed in a Health facility.
