2027 Elections: Kogi Govt. Warns Against Illegal Erection of Billboards, Outdoor Advertisement

In its effort to restore order and decorum during the electioneering campaigns, the Kogi State Signage and Advertisement Agency has warned the Public against indiscriminate display of billboards and pasting of posters without formal approval from the Agency.

 

The General Manager of the Agency Mr. Osasiyi Richards said the Agency would not take it likely with anyone who violated the rules and regulations of the Agency.

He made this known on Monday on the Radio Kogi FM personality program ” the State of Kogi”

 

According to him, as the election year is drawing closer, many billboards and posters would be seen everywhere across the State, without proper approval, saying the Agency would go all out to enforce its rules and regulations.

 

The Agency he said is back by the law of the State to regulate, monitor and control the mounting of all billboards and any other outdoor advertisement in the State and also to get rid of indiscriminate planting of billboards and pasting of posters of political campaigns in the State.

 

Mr. Osaseyi also noted that all commercial, social, religious activities must comply with the standards of the law that established the Agency in the erection of their Billboards and religious Banners

 

He called on the general public to cooperate with the Agency to ensure a healthy environment and to serve the people better

 

The Agency he noted has come to stay in the State and promised to collaborate with other MDA’s, Practitioners, business owners, industries for the growth and development of Kogi State.

 

He encouraged Kogite to be law abiding citizens and to pay their taxes as at when due. Doing so, he noted they are indirectly contributing their own quota to the development of the State and the Country at large.

 

Mr. Osaseyi Richards appreciated the State Governor Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo for the opportunity to serve and called on the people of the State to see KOSSAA as a partner in progress in ensuring that Kogi State is safe and healthy for business activities to strive.
