The Executive Chairman of Khana Local Government Area, Chief Thomas Bariere Ariar, has donated official vehicles to selected political appointees and the 19 Councillors of the Khana Legislative Council.
This is part of efforts to strengthen effective governance and enhance legislative performance across the Local Government Area.

Presenting the vehicles, the Chairman described the initiative as a demonstration of his administration’s commitment to empowering elected representatives with the necessary tools to effectively discharge their constitutional responsibilities, particularly in the areas of legislative oversight and grassroots representation.

He urged the Councillors to remain proactive, dedicated, and people-oriented in the execution of their duties, stressing that the donation was not merely symbolic, but a call to deeper service, accountability, and productivity.
“These vehicles are provided to support your legislative functions and improve your reach to the people you represent. I expect renewed commitment, diligence, and synergy with the executive arm in delivering good governance to the people of Khana,” the Chairman stated.
The Chairman further emphasized the importance of unity, teamwork, and mutual respect between the executive and legislative arms of government, noting that sustainable development can only be achieved through cooperation and a shared vision for progress.
Responding on behalf of the Legislative Council, the Leader of the House, Hon. Albright Gobari Deebom expressed profound appreciation to the Chairman for the gesture, describing it as unprecedented and a clear demonstration of responsive and people-centered leadership.
He assured the Chairman and the people of Khana that the Councillors would reciprocate the support through responsible, people-focused legislation and effective oversight.
Goodwill messages were also delivered by the Member representing Khana/Gokana Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Dumnamene Robinson Dekor, and the BOT Chairman of HYPREP, Rt. Hon. Emma Nwika Deeyah, Head of local government administration,Mrs Helen Chiorlu among others.
The event was attended by top council officials, party stakeholders, and supporters, and was marked by goodwill messages and renewed commitments to improved service delivery and sustainable development in Khana Local Government Area.
