The Candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Ijumu Constituency in the 2023 General Elections, Hon. Olupeka Babatunde Joseph has expressed grief over the demise of Olu of Ayegunle-Gbede, Oba Michael Ayeni.
Hon. Olupeka made the remark in a statement obtained by The Drum Reporters.
The PDP, who paid glowing tribute to the late King, commended him for his tenacity, vision, exemplary embodiment, and natural style of elegance in putting Ayegunle-Gbede on the map of greatness.
“I received the news of the death of Oba Ayeni with sadness. Ijumu, as a peace-loving constituency, has lost a great King. I pray for the families and the people of Ayegunle-Gbede to find peace in this loss and the fortitude to carry on with his legacy.
He prayed God to console the immediate Family, Ayegunle-Gbede Community and the people of Ijumu Local government and the deceased eternal rest.
