The Leke Abejide Foundation has continued its act of benevolence and magnanimity to 11 additional communities in Yagba West Local Government Area, donating ₦10 million to each as part of efforts to boost grassroots development and support the re-election of President Bola Tinubu.
Speaking during the presentation, Abejide said the gesture was aimed at strengthening community projects and improving livelihoods across Yagba land.
He noted that the funds were intended for projects chosen by the communities themselves, with emphasis on transparency and judicious use.
“Our goal is to ensure that every community in Yagba feels the impact of representation. These funds are for you to address your most pressing needs, whether it is water, roads, education, or health care delivery,” he said.
The lawmaker also rallied support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027, urging the communities to mobilize votes for his continued leadership.
He reaffirmed his commitment to delivering a ₦50 million development target for each community in the constituency over the next four years, with funds to be released in tranches based on progress and accountability.
Alao speaking is the Director General of the foundation, Amb. Ayobami Dada, urged the beneficiary communities to make judicious use of the funds and noted that the monitoring unit is already in place to track project progress before the second tranche is released.
Community leaders and traditional rulers who received the donations commended the foundation for its intervention.
Among them were Chief Bolade Fadunmo, National Chairman of Ere Welfare Association; Oba Ogunremi Olufemi Theophilus, Elesa of Isanlu Isa; Chief Olubunmi Solomon, Chairman of Oke-Ere Welfare Association; Elder Bayode Aro, Chairman of Akata Descendants Union; Elder Tunji Bolaji of Okoloke Descendants Union; Oba Bamisole of Odo-Ere; Segun Ajere, Youth Leader of Odo-Ere; Oba T.O. Fasedu, Eleri of Odo-Eri; and HRH Oba Stephen Olajide, Elejiba of Ejiba, alongside representatives of Okoloke, Okunran, Esia-Oke Ere, and other groups.
The beneficiaries described the intervention as timely and impactful, noting it would help address long-standing infrastructure and welfare needs, including the repair of the Odo-Ere–Akata–Oke-Ere road, rehabilitation of the Odo-Ere bridge, and support for health centers, water projects, classrooms, and an event center.
They pledged to ensure judicious use of the funds and reaffirmed their support for Abejide’s representation and Tinubu’s re-election bid.
Communities visited today include Egbe Mekun (Odo and Oke Egbe), Oke-Ere, Odo-Ere, Okunran, Akata, Esia-Oke Ere, Okoloke, Isanlu-Esa, Odo-Eri, and Ejiba in Yagba West Local Government Area.
The highlight of the event was the presentation of Zenith Bank cheques of ₦10 million to each beneficiary community’s development association and union by Rt Hon Leke Abejide and his beloved wife, Yeye Esther Abejide.
The train moves to Yagba East and Mopamuro Local Government Areas tomorrow for the continuation of the programme.
