The All Progressives Congress (APC) has distanced itself from a purported list of successful candidates from its recently concluded party primaries, describing the document circulating on social media and other platforms as fake and unauthorised.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, urged party members, stakeholders, and the general public to disregard the list, insisting that no official compilation of successful candidates has yet been released.
“The APC hereby informs the general public that it has not released the official list of successful candidates from its recently-conducted primaries,” Morka said.
The ruling party explained that successful aspirants would be formally notified through its established internal channels and would subsequently receive certificates of return in line with the party’s procedures.
According to party sources, the process of collating and verifying the results of the primaries is still ongoing. The exercise is being conducted ahead of the deadline set by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for political parties to submit the names of their candidates for the 2027 general elections.
The APC therefore cautioned members against relying on unofficial publications or documents circulating online, stressing that only information released through the party’s authorised communication channels should be regarded as authentic.
The clarification comes amid heightened political activities as parties conclude their primary elections and prepare for the next phase of the electoral process leading to the 2027 general elections.
