The Convener of the Sanity Multi-Efforts Forum (SMEF), Prince Dan Olaitan Dada, has restated his organisation’s commitment to fighting extortion and multiple taxation across Nigeria, as the group marked eight years of advocacy on Saturday.
Dada, who spoke in an official address titled “A Call to National Sanity: From Advocacy to Institutional Action,” said what began in 2017 as a grassroots movement against extortion had grown into “a structured national ecosystem with legal backing, institutional capacity, and measurable results.”
He disclosed that SMEF, registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission on May 21, 2026, now operates alongside three sister entities — Dansavist Multi-Concept (DMC), Dansavist Multi-Concept Limited (DMCL), and Sanity Multi-Efforts Limited (SMEL) — all under the philosophy “Sanity Must Be It” (SMBI).
Citing the group’s track record, Dada said its Drivers, Riders and Conductors Badge and Revenue Compliance System in Kogi State, run in partnership with the state government from May 2024 to 2026, was independently rated at 95.5 per cent performance for two consecutive fiscal years. He added that the initiative created a digital database of over 20,000 transport operators and curbed illegal collections at entry points.
The convener said SMEF has served as technical partner to internal revenue services in Kwara, Ekiti, Osun, Oyo and Kogi states, and as strategic consultant to 11 local government areas, while also participating in the Joint Revenue Board Tax Reform 2026 and the National Operation Road Sanity campaign.
On the 2025 Tax Reforms, Dada backed the federal government’s harmonisation drive, describing it as “cooperative federalism, not coercion,” and insisted the reforms would curb multiple taxation once fully implemented. He called on federal, state and local governments to move from “law-making to execution.”
Dada also announced that he would turn 50 on August 16, describing it as his “Golden Jubilee,” and said the milestone would be marked with a national engagement themed “Institutionalising Sanity for National Progress: The Next 50 Years.”
