The incoming Governor of Kogi state, Alhaji Usman Ododo have been urged to see his emergence as the act of God and a call to serve the people of the state.
This call is coming as the state is preparing for another democratic transition by January 27th.
The vicar in charge of Emmanuel Anglican Church Lokoja, Venerable Godwin Kadiri said his emergence is service to God and to the people noting that power belongs to God.
” incoming cheif executive must be humble and must listen to the cry and yearnings of the masses, must be a good listener and the one that will take good counsel from genuine minds, surround himself with God fearing people”.
Venerable Kadiri said the governor can not be successful without the citizens contributing their quota to the development of the state urging citizens to make efforts towards making life better in the state.
Also speaking ahead of the day, Apostle Daniel Praise Bala of Greater Light Gosple Christian center lokoja, want the incoming Governor to focus on human and infrastructural development adding that kogi state has resources that will transform the state into a commercial state.
“I will like Governor Usman Ododo to focus on development, kogi is under developed, there are certain things we are not seeing in this state and are supposed to be in place, so he should focus on infrastructural development, like I always say, nobody can do all but do your best and let God do the rest.”
Apostle Daniel Bala stressed on citizens role in moving the state forward liking it to a tree can not make a Forrest, calling on kogite to always do the right thing at the right time.
Another clergyman, Reverend Timothy Husseini Ayeh maintained that, governor Usman Ododo must be prepared for the task ahead in order to turn the state to another London and to stretch development across the 21 local government areas of the state.
Reverend Ayeh Said, security should be one of his priority as kogites are not having confident in moving freely in the state.
“My Wake up call for the incoming governor, is to prioritize security, infrastructure, he should look into the area of civil service, creating platform for unity among all tribes in the state”.
You will recall that on November 11, 2023, election was held in kogi state to elect the number one citizen which saw Alhaji Usman Ododo as the governor elect.
