ADC Floors APC, PDP in landslide Victory in Yagba Federal Constituency Reps Poll

A House of Representatives member representing Yagba Federal Constituency in the Green Chamber, Hon. Leke Abejide has been reelected under the platform of the African Democratic Congress ADC.

The Lawmaker pulled 23,271 votes to defeat his closest rival, Olafemi Folorunsho of APC who got 10,425 votes.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Returning Officer, Dr Okpanachi Shaibu Stephen declared Hon. Abejide as winner at the collation centre in Isanlu Yagba East area of Kogi state on Sunday.

Announcing the results, Dr Okpanachi appreciated everyone for their cooperation, the electoral officer of the local government for his generosity and attention to all the ad-hoc staff and party agents.

“We appreciate the cooperation we enjoyed during the process of carrying out our duties to see that the election was free, fair and credible, we feel comfortable being in your midst during this exercise.
He said the returning officers delivered nice, neat and credible jobs from the three local governments of Yagba Federal Constituency.

Dr Okpanachi while declaring the result and presenting the certificate of return of Hon. Leke Abejide to the Chief of Staff Hon. Shola Adebola who represented the Honourable member elect.

I, Dr Okpanachi Shaibu Stephen hereby satisfy that I am the returning officer for the 2023 Yagba East, Yagba West, Mopamuro Federal constituency election held on 25th February 2023. The elections were contested and the candidate are voted as follows:

Alonge Victor of party A scored 109 votes, Musa Nesley Lasisi of party AA received 24 votes, Abejide Joseph Leke of ADC received 23,271 votes, Bamigboye Sunday of ADP receive 45 votes and Olafemi Folorunsho of APC received 10,425 votes, Jeremiah Julius Oladokun of APGA relieved 441 votes, Adekunle of NNPP received 37 votes and Faniyi Tolorunju Joseph of PDP received 6,413 votes, Jethro Olusegun of SDP received 17 votes and Obiniyi Bamidele of YPP received 6 votes, that Abejide Leke Joseph of African Democratic Congress ADC having satisfied the requirements of the law is hereby declared the winner and returned elected.
