The All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN) in Kogi State has applauded the Caretaker Chairman of Ijumu Local Government Area for commencing the clearing of 150 Hectares of farmland for farming activities in the Local Government Area.

But the State Treasurer of AFAN, Chief Israel Oshafunmi in a statement said the move is the first of its kind in the last two decades of Ijumu local government administration.
In his words “On behalf of Ijumu farmers, I want to appreciate Alh. Haruna Ibrahim on the achievement he has made by clearing 150 hectares to be shared to us the first in the last two decades of Ijumu local government administration that land clearing exercise for farmers is being done.
According to Chief Oshafunmi, “Land clearing is a major part of Agricultural development that has been neglected by previous governments in Kogi state as it is capital-intensive and beyond the reach of average peasant farmers.
“We appreciate you sir for the giant steps you have taken to liberate the peasant farmers in Ijumu local government.
God shall continue to grant you the necessary enablement to serve people with all might and sincerity of purpose. AFAN Ijumu local government chapter is solidly behind you sir. And we are ready to support your administration to achieve success in the Ijumu kingdom.
