A Chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi West, Otunba Kingsley Mokikan has commended the commitment of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for his passion to the development of education infrastructure in the State.
Otunba Mokikan also expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the Governor, for approving a substantial sum of N8 billion dedicated to the development of vital facilities at Kogi State University, Kabba.
According to him, The funding is earmarked for the construction of a new Senate building, as well as separate male and female hostels, marking a significant advancement in the pursuit of academic excellence within the state.
Mokikan, a Frontline Politician and Supervisory Councilor for Education, made the remarks in a chat with Newsmen.
He emphasized the governor’s commitment to fostering a robust learning environment that aligns with modern educational standards.
“This monumental investment is a testament to Governor Ododo’s dedication to improving educational facilities and ensuring that our students have the best possible environment for learning and development,” he stated.
In addition to praising the governor, Mokikan also acknowledged the unwavering efforts of the Honourable Commissioner for Education, Hon. Wemi Jones FCIB.
He highlighted Jones’s tireless commitment to driving the governor’s educational reform initiatives, which aim to reshape the landscape of education in Kogi State. “Hon. Wemi Jones’s relentless advocacy and strategic planning have been instrumental in actualizing these projects. We appreciate his dedication and the collaborative spirit that he brings to the education sector,” Mokikan added.
He applauded the Executive Chairman of Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area, Hon. Barr Zacheaus Dare Michael, describing him as “the lucky host community chairman of the prestigious university.”
He noted that Michael’s leadership has been pivotal in nurturing a supportive environment for the university and its initiatives, enhancing the synergy between the institution and the local community.
