Kogi State Auditor General for Local Government, Alh. Usman Ododo has donated a motorized borehole to a Lokoja based Orphanage, Rehoboth Children’s Home.
The Founder of the Home, Chief Modupe Olaitan had cried out in a Post on Social Media after the well which is the only source of Water for the Less privileged Home dried up.
But the Auditor General for Local Government upon seeing the post, called the management of the Home with an assurance to declare his intention to render assistance.
The Drum Reporters gathered that the drilling of the borehole started on Wednesday, while the installation was done on Thursday with a donation of generator to power the borehole.
Speaking during a Thank you visit to the Governor’s Aide, Founder of the Home, Chief Modupe Olaitan described the gesture as a dream come through as she had had sleepless nights following the lack of water for the Special Children Home.
According to her, the Auditor General singlehandedly executed the project without knowing the Founder and the Location of the Home.
Accompanied by the Chairman and Board of Trustees of the Home, Mrs Iyabode Bukola Ojo and other members, the Founder expressed the unreserved appreciation of Children, management and staff to Alh. Usman Ododo and prayed God to reward him bountifully.
Responding, the Auditor General said he was able to do the Project because of the confidence reposed in him by Governor Yahaya Bello, whom he said has performed creditably.
He applauded the Management and Staff of the Home for taking care of Orphans, saying his gesture was born out of love for service to God and humanity.
